Neoen launches construction of Narrogin Wind Farm
After extensive studies and work across the project’s development stage, Neoen has announced the appointment of Envision Energy (wind turbine manufacturer) and a consortium of UGL and CPB Contractors (for balance of plant).
This is a key milestone for the project as it officially launches Narrogin Wind Farm into the construction stage. Site works are expected to commence later this quarter, and we expect the project to create over 250 new jobs (at peak construction). We will host a local employment session soon to discuss opportunities for jobseekers and suppliers.
The wind farm will consist of 23 Envision Energy turbines with the ability to generate enough energy to power ~100,000 homes in WA every year.
Jean-Christophe Cheylus, Neoen’s Regional CEO for Australia Pacific, said: “I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the project’s journey to date – especially our host landowners, the Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation and the wider community. Together, we look forward to powering Western Australia’s future with clean & reliable energy.”
