Neoen acknowledges the Wiilman Noongar people, Traditional Owners of the land on which Narrogin Wind Farm will harvest the energy of the wind. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Economic Benefits

Local Employment

Neoen focuses first on hiring local people for our projects. Locals know the land and have the skills and enthusiasm to support us during construction.

During construction, we estimate around 250 jobs will be created in the region. Hiring would begin before construction, currently expected to be in 2025.

Neighbour Benefit-Sharing Scheme

Neoen chooses to deliver a Neighbour Benefit-Sharing Scheme (NBS) on our wind assets to go ‘above & beyond’ the government’s planning requirements for large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. This is in addition to our Community Benefit-Sharing Program for the wider project communities and our agreements with landowners directly hosting wind turbines on their land.

Neoen is committed to delivering an NBS on the Narrogin Wind Farm to ensure near-neighbours can directly benefit from the region’s energy transition. It based on the number of wind turbines within certain distances of a neighbour’s primary residence. The nearer the turbines to a primary residence, the higher the amount on offer.

Please note: the NBS does not prevent neighbours from expressing their views for or against the project,
either privately or publicly at any time.
